Bernie Sanders held a rally at Hunter’s Point South Park in Long Island City New York

An estimated 3,000 people turned up at Hunters Point South Park in Long Island City On Monday, April 18, the eve of the 2016 New York democratic primary for a Bernie Sanders rally. Sanders, the presidential hopeful, made his case about income equality in the hope of garnishing more New York City votes.

The event took place in a significant portion of the neighborhood city park as well as the waterfront space rented from LIC Landing. The rally also featured special guests Danny Glover, Fisher Stevens, and TV on the Radio. 

The Vermont Senator also held rallies at LaGuardia community college on April 9, Washington Square Park on April 13 and Prospect Park in Brooklyn on April 17.
