Several online posts over the last week have indicated that applicants are already being invited to interviews for rentals at the new Hunters Point South Development in Long Island City, with at least two persons disclosing their log numbers and confirming the invites.

HuntersPointSouth.com has also learnt  that some invitations were sent out during the first week of February to applicants in the disabled  category which is being allocated some 2% of available housing on a preferential basis. Following these iinterviews, invitations are expected to be sent out to city employees.  In this category  5% of housing is being allocated. The next preferential group is expected to be those who reside in Community Board 2, which includes long Island City, as well as parts of Woodside and Sunnyside in Queens.  The preferential allocation for this group is 50 percent of all available housing.  Finally invitations will be sent to the ramaing applicants based on lottery draw until all houses have been leased.

With over 92,000 applications recieved late last year to fill 928 houses  the process which seems to be off to a good start is expected to last several months. Hunters Point South has already awarded lottery numbers to all applications and has acknowledged receipt of each applications that was logged via email.  It has also posted log numbers hext to each application on the NYC Housing website,. Applicants can log in to the lottery website online to view their numbers.  While it is not abundantly clear,  it is believed that the log numbers on the website are in fact the lottery numbers that were drawn.
